Inspiration

The Village We Build Together

We know that in remote Western Australia, the greatest challenge to wellbeing is often isolation. We believe that true healing happens when you are surrounded by your “village.” Our Group Activities are not just “programs”—they are intentional spaces designed to dissolve the barriers between you and your community. We aren’t here to fill your time; we are here to hold space for you to laugh, learn, and reconnect with the traditions and people that make you who you are. Whether it’s sharing a meal or learning a new skill, we provide the safety, the environment, and the company—you provide the stories that make our community strong.
What We Do

Our Core Activities

We facilitate experiences that honour your culture, your heritage, and your desire for independence.

Yarning & Cultural Connection

We host safe, welcoming spaces for participants to share their heritage, language, and stories with peers. This is about building pride, honouring Elders, and ensuring that cultural knowledge remains vibrant and central to our daily lives.

Traditional Cooking & Culinary Traditions

We move beyond the kitchen to make cooking a celebration. We support participants in sourcing ingredients and preparing traditional meals that remind them of home, turning the daily task of eating into a shared, joyful ritual of independence.

Skill Building for Independence

From practical life skills to creative workshops, we offer activities that focus on personal growth. We support you in building the fine motor skills, confidence, and knowledge you need to navigate the world on your own terms.

Community Gathering Spaces

We create relaxed environments where extended families, parents, and community Elders can gather. These are spaces to decompress, share experiences, and find mutual support in a setting that feels familiar and safe.

Who It’s For

For Participants: A Place to Be Yourself

This is for you if you’ve ever felt like you have to "perform" or hide who you are to fit into clinical spaces. Here, you don't have to explain your background, your culture, or your way of life—everyone just gets it. This is a space where your cultural identity is not just respected; it is celebrated. It’s a place to find friendship without judgment and to build the confidence that comes from being part of a group that values you for exactly who you are.
